Does MacWhisper write meeting summaries and action items?

Partly: MacWhisper can generate highlights and action points through its Assistant, but the AI step is not included in the app — you bring your own API key (OpenAI, Anthropic and others), run a local model through Ollama or LM Studio, or buy an optional Assistant subscription, and automatic meeting recording is still marked beta. MacWhisper's docs describe that setup, and the Pro licence is a one-time €64. That is a good deal for someone who wants on-device transcription and is happy to wire the rest. Audiee is the assembled version: bot-free capture on Zoom, Meet, Teams and Lark, a summary with action items, waiting-on and follow-ups after every meeting, a knowledge base of Markdown files on your Mac with people and project pages, answers with citations, dictation in any app, and a local MCP server, all on the free plan's 3 meeting hours a month with nothing to configure. The trade-off is that Audiee transcribes in the cloud, while MacWhisper can stay fully on device. Pick MacWhisper for offline transcription, Audiee for finished notes and memory.
