Does Zoom AI Companion work on the free Zoom plan?
Only a little: on Zoom's free plan you get meeting summaries for 3 hosted meetings per month and 20 AI queries, and the meeting must be one you host. Zoom's AI note-taking page lists those free-tier limits; the full experience, including notes for meetings you merely attend, comes with paid Zoom Workplace plans or a standalone notes plan from $8.33 per user per month. Summaries are stored in Zoom's cloud. Audiee's free plan is measured in time rather than hosted meetings: 3 meeting hours and 20 meetings a month, whether you host or attend, and on Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Lark as well as Zoom. Transcript, summary and action items are written as Markdown on the Mac itself, every meeting joins a knowledge base you can ask questions of, and Mandarin and Cantonese are recognized alongside English. Zoom's built-in notes are the easiest choice for a paid Zoom-only host; for a free account or a multi-platform day, install Audiee and let it notice the calls.
