Does Apple Notes call recording transcribe Zoom or Google Meet calls?
Not directly: on macOS the built-in call recording covers Phone and FaceTime audio calls, and the Notes app records from the microphone, so a Zoom or Google Meet call is captured only as whatever your microphone picks up, not the other participants' audio from the app. Apple's Notes guide also limits transcription to Macs with M1 or later and to a set device language — English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified or Traditional Chinese — with no Cantonese, and summaries need Apple Intelligence. It is a good free tool for a voice memo or a lecture. Audiee is built for the calls: it captures the Mac's system audio and your microphone together on Zoom, Meet, Teams and Lark, names speakers on Zoom, recognizes English, Mandarin and Cantonese mixed, and writes a summary with action items into a knowledge base of Markdown files on your Mac. The free tier includes three meeting hours a month. Try both on the same Zoom call and compare the other side's words.
