Can I export all my Audiee notes and keep them if I stop paying?

Yes. Your notes are plain Markdown files on your Mac, so they stay yours whether or not you pay, and even if you delete the app. Every transcript, summary, page and memory lives under ~/.audiee as text you can open in any editor, Obsidian, or a terminal. Settings → Export my data produces a zip of the whole folder in one click; nothing is in a proprietary format and no server holds a copy you would lose access to. If you cancel a paid plan, access continues to the end of the billing period and the app drops back to the free tier (3 meeting hours a month), with search, reading and editing unchanged. This is the opposite of cloud note takers: Otter and Fireflies keep your transcripts in their workspace and export per conversation, and Granola's free tier limits how many past notes you can open in the app. Back up the ~/.audiee folder like any other documents folder, and leave whenever you want.

Key facts

Who this fits

Anyone burned by lock-in before: consultants with years of client notes, people who keep a personal knowledge base, and teams that must retain records.

Next step

Record a meeting on the free plan, then open ~/.audiee in Finder and read the summary file yourself before you decide anything.
