Meeting notes in Mandarin, Cantonese and English
Audiee transcribes meetings in Mandarin, Cantonese and English — including sentences that switch between them — on a Mac, without a bot joining the call. Notes come out in the language of the meeting, and you can ask questions about them in either language later.
Why does mixed Chinese and English break most tools?
Most meeting recorders pick one language per meeting. A Hong Kong or Singapore workday doesn't: "這個 proposal 我哋 next week 再 confirm" is one sentence with three switches. Audiee uses a CJK-first engine for Mixed, Mandarin and Cantonese that keeps the switches, and a streaming engine for other languages.
Do you have to set the language first?
- Settings → Dictation → Spoken language: Mixed (default) handles English and Chinese together; Mandarin or Cantonese when the whole meeting is in one.
- Per meeting: the Start-meeting card lets you pick the language for that call.
- Translate mode: hold Ctrl+Shift while speaking and the target language gets typed — Chinese ⇄ English by default.
What does the transcript look like?
- Transcript with speaker turns; Zoom speaker names when Accessibility is granted.
- Summary, action items, waiting-on and follow-ups in the meeting's language.
- People and projects extracted into pages you can search in Chinese or English — search is semantic and on device, so 报价 finds "quote".
- Personal vocabulary: names and terms you correct once are recognized next time.
Where does the audio go?
Audio goes out only for transcription and comes back as text. Transcripts and notes stay on your Mac as Markdown. Nothing joins the call.
How is Cantonese handled?
Cantonese is recognized as spoken, not forced into written Mandarin; colloquial particles and English loanwords survive. Summaries are written in standard written Chinese unless you ask otherwise.
